Information on Film

Film- Action Traffic provides a large proportion of all the Filming Traffic Management in the upper North Island, we are grateful for all the support local film companies and location managers continue to give us. Action Traffic Control is the preferred traffic management company in Film in Auckland (see testimonials for references) this makes all our staff feel proud of the difference they bring to the making of film in NZ.

How to organize traffic management

Action Traffic Control is the preferred traffic management company for Film in Auckland. Coming from a film background (on site film medic) Andrew Seavill, Company Director, has a full understanding of the film industry and what is required to ensure production has minimal impact on the public. This understanding enables the production team and supporting film crew to focus on the job at hand (making film).

Action Traffic Control offers Production Managers a one stop solution to all their traffic requirements. Action Traffic Control orchestrates all necessary TMPs, parking permits, mud maps, equipment rental and qualified staff, taking the stress away from production managers and the film crew.

Changing times:

Due to increasing infrastructure demands on New Zealand roads and the impact any delays can have on public carriageways, Auckland City Council has developed clear guidelines in relation to filming in Auckland city, many other councils have done the same.

Guidelines include:

  • Traffic Management Plan – shall include areas of filming, facilities, signs, marshals, parking restrictions, public and emergency access.
  • Road Closure- shall be applied at least 6 weeks prior to allow notification to public.
  • Marshals– must be suitably qualified and easily identifiable.
  • Compliance with Law and Police directions.
  • Traffic Control Measures-provision of appropriate barricades, cones and signs to meet Traffic and Roading Safety requirements.
